I have followed Pope Benedicts history for close to twenty yearsw and every document regarding homosexuals has shown to be ones involving insensitivity, and disregard for their feelings. In one letter he blamed the voilence and discrimination some have expeirenced on themselves. In a second letter he urged the bishops to oppose their civil rights and finlay in a third he said that those in relationships should not be treated with any respect. It is very disturbing his attitude towards them.

I received a weird text message from oversea from long-time friend which said:

“sorry, that I am sending it but I can’t ignore this… 700 days passed since John Paul II went to heaven. Send it to 8 people and in 8 days angels will send you a miracle. If you don’t do it, there will be 8 days of bad luck. Honor him. I am not concernet about chain… only about memory of him.. send this forward to everyone on your list. don’t back up.”

From a speech by made by Pope Benedict XVI in the Cologne Synagogue on Holocaust Memorial Day (Jan 27):

“And in the 20th century, in the darkest period of German and European history, an insane racist ideology, born of neo-paganism, gave rise to the attempt, planned and systematically carried out by the regime, to exterminate European Jewry. The result has passed into history as the Shoah. The victims of this unspeakable and previously unimaginable crime amounted to 11,000 named individuals in Cologne alone; the real figure was surely much higher. The holiness of God was no longer recognized, and consequently, contempt was shown for the sacredness of human life.”

It’s well know that John Paul the Great unofficially supported the miracles & messages of Medjugorje. He even met several times with the priest who ran the parish where the Virgin has been appearing since 1984. I still don’t understand why he never approved this location to become a shrine (but I suspect it first had to do with communism and second with the war that errupted there in the late 1990s).

Anyway, what is Pope Benedict’s views on this city? Do you think that it he will recongize it as an important place worthy of veneration during his reign?
No, the controversy still isn’t over with this location. Although the average Catholic already accepts it as one of the holiest sites in Marianology.

Was he a kind man?
Quite a response, I shall have to ponder each answer for awhile.

I have no problem with the Pope. I think he’s a stand-up guy, a capable man fluent in 6 languages, and a very accomplished theologeon. But when I see on TV how throngs of people are showing up in droves just to get a glimpse of him, it’s almost like he is a diety or something and I wonder if it is just the position he holds or because of something unusual he has done to distinguish himself.

In 2000 he proclaimed that all who lived a just life will be saved, even if they do not believe in jesus.

OK so this statement came from the pope himself folks so who agrees with him and who disagrees with him?

Just curious…..
