Was it right for Pope Benedict to claim homosexuality is wrong and should be eliminated?

Now I’m not a religious person, nor do I have anything truly against homosexuals, but I feel that the Pope’s view on this subject, and ESPECIALLY the way in which he expressed his views was very controversial indeed. This is a link from yahoo! news about the this topic.

Do any of you guys feel as though we’re living in a modern age where the Pope ought to be more liberal concerning homosexuality, or do you think his views, although very strong, were just.

Also as a side note, is there actually any lines in the Bible that state CLEARLY that homosexuality is prohibited? And what about ‘Love thy neighbour’? and also, is the Pope powerful enough to pass judgment on people who are homosexual, since after all, though he is the Pope, he is not God, just a man.

Why would Pope Benedict need to be baptized again one year after his death?

Im not Catholic. so i dont understand the reason for this.
He was baptised at birth and apparently will be baptised again one year after his death. Is this a common practise in the catholic faith?
