I know how terrible things are going all over the globe, but after reading this headline minutes ago, and seeing how Bush himself has met with the Dalai Lama_much to China’s annoyance_, suddenly the late 1980′s came to my mind as the Pope chastised Communist Soviet Union and at the same time extended a friendly hand to all who would act correctly and accordingly to human dignity.

Some say it was Ronald Reagan who brought the Berlin Wall down. Others say Osama Bin Laden brought Soviet Union down by drying up their economic resources_up until now, anyway, since Russia seems to have picked up steam once more_But still others say it was Pope John Paul who did so.

And somehow, sometimes I think if we were to give President Bush time and benefit of the doubt he could accomplish great things. He seems to belief strongly in the goodness of people, even if it doesn’t turn good for him always…He said he’d looked into Putin’s soul! If he were to find peace between China & Taiwan that…
would be great achievement. People also say he favors Israel, but remember when he cautioned Sharon a bit after terrorist attacks on Sep. 11th? Can’t recall exactly but it was about Israel’s incursion somewhere.

I believe he has tried to do his best, and really wants justice in the world. But this is indeed a difficult world nowadays. Probably worse than it ever was.

Pope fears Bush is antichrist, journalist contends

Catholic New Times, May 18, 2003

WASHINGTON DC — According to freelance journalist Wayne Madsden, “George W Bush’s blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs and his constant references to ‘evil doers,’ in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelations–the anti-Christ.”

Madsen, a Washington-based writer and columnist, who often writes for Counterpunch, says that people close to the pope claim that amid these concerns, the pontiff wishes he was younger and in better health to confront the possibility that Bush may represent the person prophesized in Revelations. John Paul II has always believed the world was on the precipice of the final confrontation between Good and Evil as foretold in the New Testament.
Mariam – wrong pope. I’m sure the Nazi pope gets along find with Bush. You do know all the Bush fortune originated with his grandfather doing business with the Nazis, right?

The reason I ask is I saw a show on the Apocalypse on the History channel and they mentioned a prophecy that there were two believers who would oppose the AC and he would kill them and let their bodies lay in the street, and people all over the world would see them lying there dead.

Quick! For 10 points – what 2 guys am I thinking of?
The article is from the CATHOLIC NEW TIMES!

I didn’t write it – they did. The only parts of this I wrote is the title of the question and the additional details. The rest of it comes from a Catholic paper.

Cindy – you know nothing about me. I only hate stupidity and hypocrisy – not people.

Todd Maz – close but no cigar. Try again!
