I get what you are saying even though the others dont seem to. The Pope should not have the ring or his feet kissed because he is just a man. He is a sinner like the rest of us. No man should humble himself before another man but to God only. I also believe you confess your sins to God not to another man. I doubt any Pope has ever done what you asked. He is not saying the Pope claims to be Jesus, just that the Pope should not be treated as something above the rest of us.

And if a man of God and peace representing a particular religious institution has not, then why not?
Martin Luther King was parochial in that he fought for social justice in America. What I’m looking for is a religious leader, from a religious institution, with world wide dimensions.
PS: I very much have the political aspect in mind when posting this question in this subtopic(Politics)so don’t tell me I posted in the wrong area. (yeah, you, lefties)
