If you could give some links with your answer that would be great, so I could read up on it a little more.
Like how the vatican issues new sins and “10 commandments” for drivers. I just wonder how often they give these new rules.

Turkey is one of the most secular countries of Europe. Turkey even legalized gay marriage, unlike the US. The people over there are also pretty secular and moderate Muslims.

I think it is pure discrimination not to let them in just because the country is 98% Muslims.

And Pope Benedict made a remark about Turkey not being able to join the union before, he eventually apologized and payed a visit, but the Turks protested his visit.

I am Catholic. A friend of mine from church told me that Pope Benedict said that women are intrinsically unfit for the sacrament of ordination, because they lack the capacity to be ordained. I asked her where she heard this and why the Pope said what he did. I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about this supposed statement of Pope Benedict’s. Also, can you provide me a link to this statement; if it exists?

Please only answer if you have genuine information about this particular statement of the Pope’s. I am not looking for anyone’s personal opinion on the ordination of women, papal infallibility, the Catholic church, or the existence of God; so please don’t give those types of answers.
ardeare, could you please provide a link to where I can read this statement or find out more about it?
“No one has the authority to ordain women into the priesthood, not even the pope. It will never happen and never did happen.”

Not true. Episcopalian and Lutheran can be ordained as priests. Just another reason why I’m thinking of converting to one of those churches.
