On Christmas Eve Midnight Mass the Pope as head of the worldwide Roman Catholic church invoked the Child of Bethlehem and prayed for an end to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians: “Let us think also of the place named Bethlehem, of the land in which Jesus lived, and which he loved so deeply. Let us pray that peace will be established there, that hatred and violence will cease. Let us pray for mutual understanding, that hearts will be opened, so that borders can be opened.”

His travel arrangements are being made for May 2009 / / Pope John Paul II also traveled there in a 2000 Pilgrimage. . .

In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oues in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis ciuitas septicollis diruetur, & Iudex tremêdus iudicabit populum suum. Finis.
(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.)
“Gloria Olivae” should be the final pope. It appears the Benedictines devised pope 112 to dissociate their order from the “Beast”.

I originally tried to load it from this page:

But it won’t load for me this morning.
An Green-light awarded Roman Catholic site endorses this prophecy.
St. Malachy was canonized by Pope Clement (III), on 6 July, 1199, and his feast is celebrated on 3 November, in order not to clash with the Feast of All Souls.

I have not given anyone a thumbs up or down for their to this answer today.
This is not asking whether you agree with the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church or not. It’s about yet another small thing pointing to the End Times events.
What’s this? Roman Catholics are not concerned with their own canonized saints?!
Ah! There is one! pipahh

Thank you.

“While some might consider indulgences an outdated concept, great spiritual importance have been assigned to them by Benedict XVI and his predecessor, Pope John Paul II.”

It has been going on since 1999 for sure, but it never truly went away. The Catholic Clergy have just kept very quite about it, because they are embarrased…until now.
“Needless to say, there is a great need and benefit in the restoration of the importance of the teachings on indulgences in the modern Church!”

http://www.catholic-pages.com/penance/indulgences.asp

The idea of Indulgences sounds sleazy. Indulge in what, molestation of young parishoners?

It cheapens the message of Jesus Christ. It is so wholly unchristian that you should be honest and name yourselves the, “Unholy Roman Catholic Church”.

John 8:44-45
44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
(KJV)

Isn’t it funny that the only words of a Catholic saint that anti-Catholic fundamentalists take seriously are the purported words that predict the end of the Papacy?

Do these same people believe in the same prophecies of Nostradamus?
Tuberroot, sorry about classifying you incorrectly.

The page you linked to also says the following, “The silence of 400 years on the part of so many learned authors who had written about the popes, and the silence of St. Bernard especially, who wrote the “Life of St. Malachy”, is a strong argument against their authenticity, but it is not conclusive if we adopt Cucherat’s theory that they were hidden in the Archives during those 400 years.”

As a christian I beleive the St Malachy prophecies may have special significance for catholics.

Assuming that they do not directly insinuate an imminent apocalypse thereafter…. Are Catholics worried of a collpase of the papacy or a schism that may totally change the face of Catholic faith?

Surely somethings up, I am not a Catholic but just curious of what Catholics think about the prophecy. Piticularly if you envision Catholicism without a pope in the next 25 years or so I am eager to hear your take on this…

thoughts
Sentinel ,I never heard St Malachy forging anything….a saint who was a forger must have his cononisation revoked. Dubiuosly and obviously when there was plenty of time left in the middle ages he seemed a darling…now when the thread is running out he is a forger….
Most respondents after sentinel missed the point. I already said i am not assuming that this prophecy is apocalyptic so why even mention the Protestant fervour for eschatological interpretation. It may not be that at all but if indeed it merely heralds the end of the papacy, I wanted to see your view in light of that event. Catholicism without a pope will definitely be different than it is now.
