When he is standing before the Great White Throne Judgement for his heresy of declaring himself God, and commanding who is saved by grace, and who is not, in his recent declaration reaffirming “apostolic succession”?
Isn’t the Anti-Christ supposed to be making that declaration AFTER the rapture, 3.5 years into the tribulation, in the rebult temple in Jerusalem? A little early isn’t he?
For thos Catholics who are turning their heads and refusing to see what he has said…
Try here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070710/ap_on_re_eu/pope_other_christians
Quote:”said they were not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the “means of salvation.”
That is heresy, to take the saving grace AWAY from God, and assign it to the church.
He has in effect, re-affirmed himself as God, having the power to decide whop is saved and who is not because of what church they are members of.
The thief on the cross was a catholic? No.
Everyone Jesus forgave in the NT was a Catholic? No. The woman brought to be stoned He forgave, was she a Catholic? No.
Heresy, plain and simple. God decides, not Peter, Not Paul, Not ant apostle, or any so-called apostle in succession.
“Live For Jesus” and the others….
So quick you are to judge as well!
As a religious leader, it is my job to keep the heresy at bay, to make sure that like others, the leaders of churches do not promote such un-biblical doctrine!
The verse that the Cathloic church uses to tell everyone that they are going to hell unless they are RCC, is the statement made by jesus… “On you I will build my church.” He was referring to “Peter’s Faith” Pietra-Rock.
Any religious leader that states that God says if you are not a member of a specific church is a heretic plain and simple.
The Pope’s statement is heretical, and demands to be confronted. GOD SAVES NOT THE CHURCH. To think otherwise is heresy.
Like it or not, The Pope is not going to simply cut God out of the loop in the salvation process. SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH! NO CHURCH SAVES!
And as a Pastor, I will confront, heresies like this any and every time they are presented. The Pope assumes the role of God by this.

As you may or may not have heard Pope Benedict XVI confirmed the Catholic doctrine that the Catholic Church is the true Church established by Jesus Christ Himself. That non-Catholic Christian churches are “defective” because they fail to recognize the Sacred Tradition steming from apostolic succession. He also said that the non-Catholic Christian churches DO play a major role in salvation and are a benefit to their communities.
As a former Protestant now Roman Catholic I can understand why he needed to clarify this. It is a serious issue.
Before commenting yourself on the Pope’s statements please read the letter where he explains this before jumping to any conclusions.
I just want to know how the Protestant community will respond to this.

I really appreciate these respoces. Even if you may disagree.
The Catholic Church is somewhat complecated when explaining it’s positions. Yet when you take the time to really look into them you’ll see that they are sound in scripture and historically accurate.
Cari, wonderful responce but I’d have to disagree with you concerning the origin of the Catholic Church.
